A multi-terrain 10km race with a splash through the beck at the end
BeckBusters is a chip timed event which is now in its 7th year. This multi-terrain course covers a distance of approximately 10km and starts and finishes at Bishop Monkton Primary School. The course is gaining a reputation for being flat and fast whilst still being located within some beautiful and picturesque countryside. Perfect for both those entrants wanting to gain a PB (perhaps even aiming to break our course record!) or for runners new to the 10km distance.
The course incorporates a mixture of road, footpaths and trails beginning on a quiet country road before heading cross country to follow the River Ure and the Ripon Canal. Runners will then pass through the pretty village of Littlethorpe before heading back cross country to Bishop Monkton.
There is also A 2km Fun Run for ages 3 to under 15 taking place before the 10k race. Prizes are awarded to overall and age category winners.
500+ runners competing on the day
Excellent route, with just the right balance between challenging and enjoyable
Great atmosphere brought to you by the local community
Amazing prizes care of our generous sponsors
We also have a secret ingredient …the best cake stand in North Yorkshire! You will be spoiled for choice!
This year we are aiming for a greener race with less waste. One area we want to improve is medal wastage so we hope you don't mind paying extra if you would like a medal. It also allows us to keep our prices low for those who don't want the bling!
Ultimately this is a charitable event, which raises vital funds for our local school, Bishop Monkton Primary.
*Under 8s must be accompanied by an adult (no need for adults to pay or enter). The youngest entrant we had last year was 2 years old.
Fantastic fun run event, with a great atmosphere. We will be back next year!
Lovely scenic course, friendly and supportive marshals, great t-shirt this year at the end, definitely one of my favourite runs, thank you.
It was a totally fab run! Great organisers, music, food and marshalling! Lots of support from the residents too!
