It is with heavy hearts that we have had to make the decision not to run Beck Busters 2020 in its' usual format. Given the current social distancing guidelines it seems unlikely that we will be in a position to safely host 300+ runners as planned in September. We have already started planning for 2021, and have a provisional date of September 19th, but we know that many of you have been training hard in the hope that some races might go ahead, and that some of you have even taken up running for the first time during lockdown. With this in mind we are excited to announce this years Beck Busters virtual 10K and fun run.
There will be the usual 10km race where you choose your route and run your own race anytime between 20th July 2020 and what would have been race day 20th September 2020. This is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself so why not go for a personal best? All you need to do is register and then send your results (via Strava, Garmin, RunKeeper etc) to email@example.com by September 20th.
As everyone will complete a different route, with different terrain we will be unable to offer the usual 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes however all entrants will receive a bespoke medal and we have spot prizes up for grabs. These will be announced on facebook so please like and follow our page @BeckBusters10K
Don't be put off by the name! The fun run is open to adults and children who don't want to run the full 10K. You could do the usual 2km, try 1km for our younger runners or push yourself to run 5km. It doesn't matter if you can't measure or time it, its just about challenging yourself and having fun. All you need to do is register and then email us at firstname.lastname@example.org once you have completed your run.
We would love to see your pictures and each entrant will receive a bespoke medal on completion of the event. There will also be some spot prizes up for grabs so please like and follow our Facebook page @BeckBusters10K for more updates.
Beckbusters 2018 was a huge success and a brilliant day. We had 300 10k runners and 150 2k runners. The whole village came out to support which made a great atmosphere. We plan to do things even bigger and better this year.
We welcomed runners of all abilities and we are so grateful for all your support. The race raised £6000 for our school and this has been spent on a much needed update to our IT system, massive thanks to all our sponsors and runners and to everyone who came out to support.
We are looking forward to welcoming back runners from last year as well as hopefully seeing some new faces taking on the challenge this year!
